Looking Back at the “Journées Privilèges” – Doreau Tonneliers

The Journées Privilèges hosted by Tonnellerie Doreau welcomed guests on May 15 and June 12 for two special events dedicated to sharing, craftsmanship, and a passion for oak.

Through these immersive days, our clients had the opportunity to discover every facet of our cooperage profession

A journey into our expertise 🌳🪵

More than 30 clients joined us to explore our world, guided by a team of dedicated and passionate professionals.

Boris Chanteloup and Flavie Ledanois, Purchasing Managers, along with Jérôme Poletz, Head of Merrain Production at TMR, introduced participants to the origins of our oak. They shared their knowledge of wood sourcing and the management of our merrain yard, a key stage in our production process. from the selection of oak to its sensory impact on spirits.

Thierry Doreau and Joris Faure, Spirits & Large Formats Sales Manager, presented the different stages involved in crafting a barrel, highlighting the artisanal gestures passed down through generations.

A full-scale mise en rose workshop, led by Sébastien Rouyer (Master Trainer) and Jordane Bonnet (Assembly Workshop Manager), gave visitors the chance to assemble a cask live on the cooperage’s parking lot, a memorable moment for many.

A tasting to showcase oak’s influence on spirits 🥃

To conclude this sensory experience, Benjamin Durand from Maison Courvoisier led a guided cognac tasting. A vivid and flavorful way to demonstrate the oak’s role in aging, and to connect the world of cooperage to that of fine spirits.

A warm and convivial atmosphere 🍕

The day ended with a friendly and relaxed moment thanks to the Timonier Pizza food truck, which delighted all attendees with its delicious pizzas in a convivial setting.

These Journées Privilèges were a wonderful opportunity to showcase our craftsmanship, share our passion, and strengthen our bonds with partners. They perfectly reflect the values of Doreau Tonneliers: transmission, sharing, and a deep love for oak.
